U is for Unicorn

Many many years ago when I was about 14 or 15, Mumsy dearest started a U is for Unicorn wall hanging for me. I have no idea where it is now, or if she even finished it! I think I will have to dig it out on my next trip up there...
But... I was looking through a friend's Facebook photos, and came across one of the letters from the set that she had appliqued for her brother. I quizzed her about it, and she kindly offered to lend me her copy of the book that it came from!
So now I am stitching all of the patterns in the book to make into my own wall hanging for my room... Just proves that true gorgeousness never goes out of fashion!
Also this afternoon I made a quickie block (A6 Uncle Homer) for my Dear Jane quilt, and I am really liking the color! I'm reworking all of my DJ blocks that I have completed so far, as I didn't like the purples... So now my DJ will have black background with bright varigated pink, turqouise, cornflower blue and purple, only five colors in the entire quilt, including the background black. Sooo not traditional colors, but I've never been the type to slot myself into a mold!
